Melbourne, Australia

... these pretty much sum up my love of Melbourne. I had a good time exploring but the weather was pissy so i was in a B&W mood. I hit the Queen Vic Markets, Southbank and Federation Square, as well as aimless wandering around the CDB. I love Melbourne but the city made me moody.. i know not why.

The Arthouse, Melbourne, Australia

... A neat ecclectic Pub and backpakers hotel. Looked like a good music venue for alterno style bands. Extremely cheap rooms. I caught some Heavy Metal/Punk/Thrash kind of bands from Sydney that were in town playing. It really was not my kind of music because I prefer to hear the lyrics of what is being sung.. SUNG... not yelled/belched into the microphone... but three of the bands were surprisingly good. This really is not my scene so i am no expert but the bands could really play.. and the lead vocalists (ahem) apparently did know their stuff by the reaction of the crowd.

Melbourne Grind Girls

... while in Melbourne, Australia, I got to shoot pictures at a practice of the Melbourne Grind Girls, the Victorian Roller Derby League in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. They are a pretty new roller derby league that has yet to play a full bout. Their training is pretty serious so i am sure they are well on their way. They certainly had the most fit looking members out of any league i have seen. The austere walls of the training space did not lend to capturing the kind of panning motion shots like i wanted. Catching a roller derby team in yet another (barely) foreign country was a nice touch to my Australia expedition.

To see the complete set, visit and if any member of the team wants a copy on CD, please email me at

The Great Ocean Road, Victoria, Australia

... I took a three day drive around the Great Ocean Road. in Victoria, Australia. It rained every day so most of my skies were washed out but there were a few occasional blasts of sunshine. The bad weather made for a neat sea-scape. Lots of rainbows too. Saw the 12 Apostles, London Bridge and all the other famous rock formations. Also hit every beach and lighthouse i could find. The road was just a delight to drive... lots of curves. Just wish the speed limit was a bit faster.
