J-No Model Shoot

... my very first photo shoot. I really need to learn Photoshop. No photo lights or flashes led to some shadows that i should have gotten rid of. It was all for fun really but it was nice to pretend like i was a professional. I should have shot in RAW. All pictures were done in iPhoto and shot in a raquetball court in my building. Next time i will wait until midnight so people stop peeking.

She is a verrrry attractive local community theater actress who does all her own stunts. Isn't she pretty! I would very much like to do this kind of stuff again.

Side note: a few weeks ago i tried to shoot only in RAW. I have been reading everything i can get my hands on about RAW and am having issues with workflow. I am on the fence now about the whole thing. I like RAW but am having file organization issues... keeping images and originals seperate in my head is driving me batty. Help!

Disgusting Souvenir...

... this is the most hideous Souvenir you could ever possibly receive from someone that visited Florida. Why is the Father Pig helping breast feed the baby pig anyway? Thank you Karen!

Assassins (performed by Foundry Players)

... I was allowed to take shots of the production of a dress rehearsal of the musical "Assassins" by the Foundry Players in DC. I also did some B&W Headshots for them. The cast was huge and the production of the play very technical... lots of AV stuff going on. The shots of the rehearsal were difficult given the lighting but i did the best i could for not having seen the play before. As someone who's job it is to make sure an assassination DOES NOT happen, i found the play a bit disturbing. Moreso because it was a musical. Great job by the cast and crew.. my hat is off to them.

You can see a schedule for the musical at http://www.foundryplayers.com/season0607/summer.htm

DC July 4th Fireworks

...Some photos from the 2007 DC July 4th Fireworks. I took a lot of photos from a balcony with an amazing view at a party. These were shot at 100 ISO, between f8 and f16, Manual Focus, tripod and remote shutter release. I shot in RAW for the first time but could never find the bulb setting for my camera so many of the photos wre grossly overexposed.

Shooting in RAW posed a different set of problems since i am on the fence with what photo editing and management software i want to use... Apeture or PS Elements (Bridge). I need some kind of formal class on these programs because i over saturated the colors a bit and before i could start over, i accidently convereted them to JPG and deleted the masters. This is as good as it got.

Next year, I vow to get closer to the fireworks so i don't have to go through a 70-300 telephoto.
