Evan Bliss and the Welchers (band)...

... playing at Iota Club in Clarendon. I was in a Black & White mood. The lighting was fun but i still felt all B&W.

I was never able to get a good shot of the drummer, which was weird because it seemed to me he was well lit. I know you cut light and add stops as you zoom in but i had no idea it would make so much difference. Also - if you ever shoot at Iota, be sure to ask the sound man for permission. They have a no-photography rule there that is not so well posted.

Harptallica at Iota Club

... This two-woman band on tour from Louisiana played at IOTA on a Monday night. They are serious music students who play the Harp... to Metallica. Near as i can tell, they have about 10 songs in their repertoire and rewrote the songs for TWO harps. You have to hear it to believe it... it was quite cool. You can even buy some of their work on iTunes.

Festival of Grapes Parade...

... held in the village of Silver Creek, NY. This parade is small-town americana at its best. A photographically beautiful event. The old, the young... it was such a happy day... these many photos don't do it justice.
