John Basilone is the only Marine to be awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor AND the Navy Cross. He returned to action after being awarded the Medal of Honor for heroism in Guadalcanal and was subsequently killed at Iwo Jima in WWII. He is also the only Marine to have an annual parade in his honor.
What a colourful parade... all shot with the tilt-shift for just that extra off-kilter look. A bump in contrast, vibrance and some vignetting add just the right punch to really bring out the feel of the event. It was amazing... and going through these photos really hit me hard how lucky I am to capture such an event.
