Zombie Lurch...

... select pictures from the DC Zombie Lurch 2008 (and Silver Spring Lurch as well mixed in).  Hard to take a bad picture of Zombies.  I intentionally blew out the vibrancy and contrast to show the coulour/flavor of the event because shooting in Black & White would be too easy.  I used an off-camera 580EXII flash hooked to a mono-pod via Pocket Wizards - my first Strobist attempt!

First Star...

... Last night I shot pictures for First Star, a children's rights advocacy Charity group in DC.  Having now shot two events for them, I am pretty confident this is an organization that really cares about abused children and children's legal rights overall - and I am really pleased they chose me to shoot for them.  

Funny thing about Corporate Style Event photography....

1.  It is hard to transition into event photography when at heart you really want to shoot in a more photojournalistic or artistic style.

2.  Make sure there is no artistic/historic NUDE paintings on the wall behind VIPs you are trying to capture with your camera.  Nipples above the heads of the Board of Directors and Honorees for a Children's Rights group are probably not what they want for marketing/media purposes.
